Curved glass<\/h1>\n

Curved glass from Flintermann combines the advantages of a glass surface with the modern elegance of organic shapes. Different bends allow for completely new forms in architecture.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Cylindrical bending (with straight extensions).<\/h4>\n

Possible glass thicknesses and glass types are determined in close consultation with the customer after production engineering testing.<\/p>\n

Conical bending<\/h4>\n

Possible glass thicknesses and glass types are determined in close consultation with the customer after production-technical testing.

Spherical bending<\/h4>\n

Cylindrical bending<\/h4>\n

The bent glass is part of a cylindrical shell.
\nThe maximum dimensions to be produced are determined in by mutual agreement. They are dependent on the type of glass and insulating glass structure. As cylindrical bending are the following glass types glass types can be produced as cylindrical bends: float glass, tempered glass (ESG), partially tempered glass (TVG), laminated safety glass (VSG made of float), laminated safety glass (VSG made of ESG), laminated safety glass (VSG made of TVG), insulating glass.<\/p>\n

Technical information<\/h4>\n

All glasses can be refined by various coatings. These include sandblasting, color coatings or screen printing.<\/p>\n

Plane and curved glass<\/h4>\n

The transparency is influenced by the bending of the glass.
\nDepending on glass thickness and geometry, so-called burn-in can occur. Due to optical laws, the reflection of curved glass always differs from the reflection of plane glass. Increased burn-in, coating defects and surface imprints are permissible, provided that they are not visible from a distance of 3 m, in diffuse daylight and with a clear view. The same applies to impairments in terms of color, reflection and light transmission.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Curved insulating glass<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

In modern architecture and renovation, insulating glass enables improved properties in terms of light transmission in combination with sensible insulation.
\nSophisticated glass for architecture and interior design is often made of insulating glass. Depending on the application, different designs and variants are used.<\/p>\n

Multi-pane insulating glass (DIN 1259-2) consists of two or three parallel panes of glass (float glass, toughened safety glass (ESG), partially tempered glass (TVG), which can also be combined. As a result, different properties and specific characteristics are achieved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Curved toughened safety glass (ESG)<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

Flintermann offers toughened safety glass (ESG) from its own production.
\nToughened safety glass (ESG) consists entirely of one pane of glass. It has increased bending, impact and shock resistance and offers improved resistance to temperature changes. In the event of breakage, toughened safety glass breaks into small coherent fragments, significantly reducing the risk of injury.<\/p>\n

The increased strength results from the so-called tempering process. In this process, float glass is heated to over 600 \u00b0C in a tempering furnace under constant agitation and then quenched with cold air. During cooling, the surfaces cool faster than the core zone, resulting in the formation of zones of varying stress in the glass. These stress zones give the glass its characteristic properties. ESG can hardly be distinguished visually from normal, non-tempered glass and is therefore marked in one corner by a stamp with the imprint “ESG”.<\/p>\n

ESG is also used in the production of laminated safety glass, Here ESG is sometimes combined with float glass or partially tempered glass (TVG).<\/p>\n
